This is a cutout standee of the mechanized dragon god doll that is used in the spring Takayama festival. The real doll has a scary, red face, but please take your picture with a kind smile.

This is also a mechanized sanbaso (noh performer) doll that appears during the spring Takayama festival. The real doll wears an old man mask, but please put a smile in its place.

Hotei
In fall’s Takayama festival, a mechanized Hotei (god of abundance) doll appears. Many people enjoy the image of his plump frame riding on the shoulders of a child.
